PSAT is a Matlab-based suite for power system steady-state and dynamic analysis

PSAT is a Matlab toolbox for electric power system analysis and control. The command line version of PSAT is also GNU Octave compatible. PSAT includes power flow, continuation power flow, optimal power flow, small signal stability analysis and time domain simulation. How It Works
PSAT solves steady-state and dynamic analyses of high-voltage power systems. These include: power flow, optimal power flow (both linear and nonlinear programming models), continuation power flow (for voltage stability analysis), small-signal stability analysis (for angle stability analysis), time domain integration (for transient stability analysis), 2D and 3D visualization, and equivalencing techniques. It is specifically oriented to education and research.
The main advantage of PSAT with respect of other tools is the implementation in Matlab and Simulink, which makes it easy to understand, customize and extend. PSAT is used world-wide for teaching and for research and is considered a benchmark reference for dynamic analysis of power systems.
